Better than us getting our asses handed to us by Barbas' lackeys? (oops, did she not mention she wasn't alone in the wynonna-ing?)

[Waverly sits up, Alarmed, because if all three of them were involved in some shenanigans, they definitely might lose the bar.]

Not Doc too.

Nope. Not Doc. Jon and Elena.

(she may have purposefully not told doc what she was doing at the time bc even in her anger wynonna knew they needed the bar.)

[stupetballs]

Really?

[She's a little surprised. It hasn't quite occurred to her, given everything that's happened since, why they were all working together.]

What happened?

[middlefinger]

I started a fight with some of Barbas' lackeys demanding to know where you were, and Jon and Elena came across it and joined in -- saved my ass, honestly.

[stupetballs]

Oh.

[Because of her. That's both incredibly sweet and incredibly stupid all at the same time, which is very much on brand for Wynonna. She settles back in next to her sister again.]

I love you for trying to rescue me.

[middlefinger]

I always will.

(even when it's more stupid than brave, it's just not in wynonna's dna to do nothing.)

[stupetballs]

I know. And I will too.

[She might not go full Wynonna at it, but she'll find a way. Whatever it takes.]

[middlefinger]

I know that. And we have other people to help us to.

(as much as she can vibe with her and waverly vs the world it's nice to know they don't have to.)

We do.

[She nods with a small smile.]

It's nice to have a team again.

[middlefinger]

It is. Don't get me wrong, I miss Nicole and Jerear and god I can't believe I'm saying this -- but even Nedley -- but it's nice to have people here we can count on too.

(especially when doc needs to be out of the loop so they don't lose the bar. which she doesn't love. there's a lot about doc's life right now she's not exactly thrilled about even if she gets it wasn't his choice.)

[stupetballs]

Yeah, it is.

[She takes a deep breath, and there's a slight frown as she talks.]

I really miss Nicole.

[middlefinger]

I bet. You know you can talk to me about that, right? You don't have to hold it in.

(says the pot who tries very hard not to talk about her own feelings. but she misses nicole too -- not in the same way, of course -- but she misses her all the same.)

[stupetballs]

[She nods absently, but honestly she doesn't know how to talk about it. She doesn't know how to put into words how lonely she feels and how much she wants to connect with someone in the way that she sees other people connecting.]

She waited eighteen months for me.

[She nods, as though she should be sure.]

I can wait for her.

[middlefinger]

It's okay if you don't.

(nicole is her friend, and she's not saying waverly needs to cheat on her....but there also people here who have never gotten other people from their own worlds. she doesn't want her sister to wait around forever for someone who might not show up.

that's not fair to waverly.)

[stupetballs]

[She shrugs.]

I'm not really into anyone like that. Like ... there's no feelings or anything. But sometimes being here is just really ... lonely.

[Not to say that she isn't grateful for her sister or her friends, but they're not Nicole. They don't fill those kinds of needs and she wouldn't ask them to.]

[middlefinger]

Yeah, it definitely can be.

(wynonna has lost a lot of the people who made this place bearable for her before waverly or doc arrived, when she was basically alone. she's been feeling pretty lonely herself lately, though she doesn't say it. she lets this moment be about waverly.)

It's not fair that the two of you are separated like this. I'm adding it to my list of reasons to be pissed off at God here.

[stupetballs]

Yeah. But at the same time, I'm not sure I would want her here.

[That's so selfish, isn't it? To want the love of her life to be in Hell just to be with her?

That can't be fair.]

Which is dumb, right? It's like make up your mind.

[middlefinger]

It's not dumb, angel. It just means you're human like the rest of us mere mortals. I was so happy when you arrived, and I know that's selfish....but this can be a really lonely place.

(and she misses nicole too, though obviously not in the same way.)

[stupetballs]

[She nods.]

Yeah, you're right.

[Then she looks up at her with a small smile.]

Is it weird that I'd rather be here with you than you being here alone?

[middlefinger]

(she presses a small kiss at the crown of her sister's head.)

No. But I would send you home in a heartbeat if I could. Don't get me wrong, I love having you here, but you don't belong here.

(whereas wynonna, on some level, still believes that she does.)

[stupetballs]

We'll get out of here together.

[Because she's not leaving her sister behind if she can help it.]

Hopefully sometime before the Leviathan arrives to kills us all.

[Because that's the other place her brain has been lately, and her other reason for not wanting Nicole here, even if she has no say in the matter.]

If I could avoid dying again, that would be nice.

(she had enough of that during her hallucigenic groundhog's day experience with doc thanks to bulshar. not that she ever went into detail about what happened in there, or what led to her giving up to peacemaker.)

I don't want to see you or anyone I care about here die either.
