I'm not. I was always Wynonna Earp's number one fan. It's just nice that there's a club of us now.

[And she can see how that would help. She leans into Wynonna, resting her head against her sister's shoulder as she sighs.]

You know, when I thought about Purgatory, I didn't think it would be going to Hell.

This can't really be hell, not if you're here.

[wynonna wraps her arm around waverly's shoulder, pulling her in close. she can believe a lot of things, but she will never, ever believe waverly deserves to be here.

but selfishly, she's glad she is.]

[Waverly goes without complaint, curling into her sister's side and holding her close. She doesn't necessarily agree - Waverly has as many reasons to go to Hell as anyone, but she's not going to debate Wynonna right now.]

For as long as I can, I'm not going anywhere.

I'll find a way to get you out, baby girl. Both of us.

[they can't stay here, there's too much unresolved to go home for -- at least to wynonna. there's still so much she doesn't know.]

When you visited me -- you said you had more to catch me up on.

Yeah. We should definitely get on the same page.

[Hell seems like the kind of place that could bring up so many of their secrets without them meaning to. The best way to handle it is to narrow that down to as few as possible.]

So where did you leave off back home?

[exactly wynonna's thinking. she's seen enough of hell's mind games -- she doesn't want to give them fodder to drive a wedge between her and waverly.]

I had just saved you from that bitch, Jolene. You said you were from a lot further than that. And something about Peacemaker being a sword? And defeating Bulshar? And you melting Bobo's brains which is honestly maybe the best thing I've ever heard -- because your dad was an angel.

[at least those are the details that stand out to her from their conversation in the dungeons]

Yeah. Okay. That covers a lot of the big stuff.

[And she'll fill in what little she knows about the Ghost River Triangle actually being the home base for the capital G Garden and Bulshar being the snake from the story, and her dad being an angel that was supposed to protect it but Ward happened. Peacemaker being an angel sword comes soon after. She'll also mention Michelle leaving to find Julian which is kind of ironic because Julian was in the Ghost River Triangle the entire time.

And then, there's the hard part, because she knows it's not what Wynonna's going to want to hear. But she'll tie up this portion of things with something that will actually make her happy:]

[a heaviness in her chest feels like it's been lifted, at least a little. she breaks the curse. alice is free. maybe that means someday --

someday she'll get to see her daughter again. all the more reason to get out of hell.

she leans in to press a kiss to the crown of waverly's head]

That may be the best news I've heard, ever.

[But that's not the end of things. There's something else Wynonna needs to know, just in case Doc is not far behind her and not as Wynonna remembers him.]

But there's something else you should know. About Doc.

[wynonna tenses a little. she had been so angry at doc when she arrived here -- angry at him for lying to her about kate. stupid perfect nosed kate. but things with her and doc usually either tend be good or a tire fire, with almost no in-between, so it sounds like things get worse. she tries to brace herself for it.]

What about Doc?

[She takes a deep breath, because it's still a betrayal she's dealing with, but at the same time, Wynonna needs to know.]

He asked Kate to turn him.

[wynonna feels like she's been punched in the stomach. and maybe it's hypocritical because...she's been sleeping with klaus and she knows exactly what he is, but he was also that long before he met her. he didn't choose to become it after his daughter was born, ensuring he would outlive her and alice both. him sleeping with kate had felt bad enough but this....this was way, way worse.

she grabs the bottle of whiskey she had been nursing before, taking a long swig from it before speaking.]

Did he really hate being mortal like the rest of us so much?

I don't know.

[She doesn't understand the decision any more than Wynonna does. But also trying to equate something like that to it, would mean that Doc thought about it long enough to make a non-emotional decision about it.]

I think he was feeling ... really powerless.

I knew he felt...less then after losing his ring but I never thought he would choose to outlive our daughter.

[or that he would choose to outlive her. that part goes unsaid, but hangs in the air all the same.]

Why would he choose her? She left him when he was dying. Whatever I did, it can't be worse than that.

[wynonna assumes the decision involved her somehow...and not just because she's a little self involved but she also knows how she and doc get in their fights.

not that she's been chaste or waiting around for doc, far from it, if anything she's been making a grand mess of her love life here just as much as she did back home but that's so not the point right now]

[Waverly takes a deep breath as she sits up more, moving to rest her back against the headboard. She could say that Wynonna pushes him away just as easily as she draws him in. She could mention that she sent Alice away without truly consulting him - even if it was the right thing to do, it was a rough way to do it. But she doesn't think piling on Wynonna will help in this moment.]

I don't think it was just you. I think it was also wanting to protect Alice, and losing Dolls and ... I think dying in that wish world really got to him. But that doesn't make it right.

[She rubs her hands against her legs as she watches her sister.]

He made his choice, Wynonna. I'm not telling you this to try and defend it. I just don't want you to get caught off-guard in case he shows up here and isn't the Doc you remember.

[she knows he had been upset about alice, but it had seemed like they had worked past that -- as much as people could. she'll never forget the sight of that little cradle in the basement, the one he made himself and couldn't bear to throw away.

at the mention of dolls wynonna takes another drink. another one of the things she doesn't talk about but hangs around her neck like a noose. the photo he left for her of the gang is hanging up on the wall next to the one of her, willa and waverly as kids, a reminder to keep fighting, but sometimes she wonders if he bet on the right horse.]

If he comes here...is he dangerous? [she and doc might not have always gotten along, and they fight as well as they flirt, but the idea of him being an enemy....]

I have friends here. People I care about.

[Waverly doesn't know what to say, at first. The last she remembers, Doc seemed like the Doc she knew, but she also remembers watching him as he tried to drain her father, possessed by the power of his blood.]

He can be. Not all the time, but ... sometimes he can be really dangerous. He doesn't always handle his ... cravings well.

That's good to know. Just in case. I know vampires here, people who might be able to help him.

[or could help stop him, if it came to it, she doesn't say.]

Klaus, one of my roommates, is a vampire and werewolf hybrid -- which you know, weird, but handy, and super old.

Oh. That's very good to know.

[There's a beat.]

Especially since angel blood kind of makes vampires go a little ... feral.

[Another beat.]

Wait, did you say hybrid?

Yeah. That's a thing, at least here.

[wynonna has not asked the details -- she and klaus don't often do a lot of talking....]

My other roomates are like...legit comic books-esque superheroes. You see some weird shit here. I thought Homelander was some sorta weird cosplayer when we met.

I met him too. He's ... a lot.

[In presentation, at least, they didn't talk very long and he's depowered at the moment. But Waverly will reach for the bag of chips before following up with:]

I'm pretty sure the ladies I'm rooming with are secret agents.

He can be. But he's not that bad when you get to know him.

[or wynonna just hasn't seen him at his full psychotic yet. honestly, doc looks like a saint compared to people like homelander and klaus, wynonna's questionable taste continues to be in true form in hell.

Good. Sounds like they'll be able to keep you safe. [since wynonna can't hover around waverly 24/7, much as she might want to.]

That's the plan. We've got a whole system and everything.

[She pauses for a moment, before looking up at her again.]

Are you okay? I know I just dumped a lot on you.

[she's not, but that was true even before waverly told her about the doc of it all. it's been a rough few weeks.]

[She nods because yeah, Wynonna is not fine, but that's okay. She wasn't expecting her to be.]
